Alibaba plans to separate its six main businesses into independent units as the Chinese technology group seeks to bolster its share price.

Each unit will be led by a separate chief executive and board, while embarking on their own capital raising or public offerings, Alibaba said in a public letter.

Rival JD.com has taken similar steps. It has retained a controlling stake in a diverse set of businesses that have gone on to raise outside capital, with several eventually listing in Hong Kong.

New York-listed shares in Alibaba gained as much as 6.7 per cent in pre-market trading following the statement.

1. Cloud Intelligence Group: Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang will be head of this business which will house the company’s cloud and artificial intelligence activities.

3. Local Services Group: Yu Yongfu will be CEO and the business will cover Alibaba’s food delivery service Ele.me as well as its mapping.

5. Global Digital Commerce Group: Jiang Fan will serve as CEO. This unit includes Alibaba’s international e-commerce businesses including AliExpress and Lazada.
6. Digital Media and Entertainment Group: Fan Luyuan will be CEO of the unit which includes Alibaba’s streaming and movie business.

Each of these units can pursue independent fundraising and a public listing when they’re ready, Zhang said.

The exception is the Taobao Tmall Commerce Group, which will remain wholly-owned by Alibaba.

Es besteht ja nur die Möglichkeit, dass die selber an die Börse gehen.

Aber geht mir im Endeffekt gleich, sobald es konkret wird, denke ich ebenfalls an einen Verkauf.

Hat mich bei Tencent auch genervt, die Abspaltung/Einbuchung von JD.com und Meituan.

das letzte Gerücht meinte, das Logistik als erster Teil bis Ende des Jahres, an die Börse gebracht werden könnte.

Alibaba ist ja ohne Zweifel in mehrerlei Hinsicht unter die Räder gekommen. Zum einen aufgrund des Eingriffs der chinesischen Regierung in Techcompanies, Lockdowns und geopolitische Spannungen. Für mich aktuell die Position mit der schlechtesten Performance im

Portfolio. Aus meiner Sicht kann es auch noch schlechter kommen wenn der Taiwankonflikt eskaliert. Halte die Position aber weiter und hatte auch immer mal wieder bei extremer Schwäche um 10-12 Euro nachgelegt. Mit Blick auf mein Gesamtportfolio aktuell rd. 0,7%.

 

1. PE = 38 Typische Range 40-42

2. PS = 1,8 Typische Range 8-12.

3. Price2FCF = 7,2. Typische Range 14-20

4. EV to EBITDA = 10,8. Typische Range 22-25

Mit Abstand die schlechteste Position mit Blick auf die Performance in meinem Portfolio. Es kann noch schlimmer kommen, hoffe dennoch auf eine Beruhigung der Situation in China. Aber geopolitisches Risiko bleibt.

Morgen kommen erstmal Zahlen- mal schauen, ob da kursmäßig Bewegung rein kommt. Vielleicht will Burry ja auch nur kurz halten. Er ist auf jeden Fall schön niedrig eingestiegen im Gegensatz zu Munger (und mir...).
