FamilienHolding, Entrepreneurship made in France, Koloniale Dekadenz, Schiffartslinien, Bahnverbindungen, Häfen, Telekommunikation sowie Electric Car-Sharing + Batterieherstellung.

Reuter schreibt dazu:

Bollore battery share offer harnesses electric-car optimism

und weiter

Oct 17 (Reuters) - A flotation of French battery maker Blue Solutions may value the loss-making company at up to 418 million euros ($564 million), its owner said on Thursday, signalling growing investor appetite for electric-car technology.

Bollore group, which is controlled by French industrialist Vincent Bollore, said it had set an indicative offer price of between 12 and 14.50 euros per share for the company that makes batteries to power cars.

Sales of pure electric cars have so far been sluggish, with many consumers deterred by the limited distance they can travel between charges. But despite the slow start and high-profile failures, the technology is attracting more attention as more mainstream brands join the fray and successful startups emerge.

Bollore group, which announced the plan to float 10 percent of the company last week, said the sale of 2.88 million shares would value Blue Solutions - which lost 22.4 million euros last year on sales of 61.7 million - at between 346 million and 418 million euros.

"The overall price tag looks quite high and the business model remains risky," said a Paris-based fund manager who holds some Bollore shares. "But if you believe electric cars have a strong potential and Blue Solutions could catch fire, then it's not too expensive."

The flotation, in which the Bollore group and its affiliate Bollore Participations will each offload part of their holdings in the company, follows September's announcement of an electric-car partnership with French carmaker Renault.

Faced with tougher environmental regulation and consumer demand for fuel-efficient cars that emit less carbon dioxide, automakers are investing heavily in electric vehicles and hybrids, which combine a conventional combustion engine with a battery-powered transmission.

Electric sports car maker Fisker, its battery supplier A123 Systems and Better Place, a California-based recharging infrastructure operator, have all gone bust in the past year.

Renault and Japanese partner Nissan have invested 4 billion euros in electric cars, but sales have lagged far behind forecasts, with around 100,000 delivered to date.

Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn has acknowledged his carmarking alliance's 1.5 million sales goal for 2016 will be missed.

However, other major manufacturers are moving into the technology. BMW unveiled its carbon-fibre i3 mini earlier this year along with plans to follow up with an i8 sports car.

Tesla Motors, the U.S. electric carmaker founded by PayPal billionaire Elon Musk, is now worth $22.3 billion - nearly half of General Motors or one-third of Ford's market value.

Shares in Bollore group, which have risen about 47 percent this year, were up 0.55 percent at 380.90 euros as of 1209 GMT on Thursday.

Its Blue Solutions business uses lithium-metal-polymer technology rather than more common lithium-ion cells and also makes power storage stations for solar and wind farms.

Bollore is behind the separate Paris electric car-sharing programme, Autolib', which the company hopes to export to major cities overseas, starting in Asia. Its recharging stations dotting the French capital have won about 100,000 clients since the service launched in late 2011.

"Energy is at the heart of the challenges to economic growth worldwide," billionaire Bollore said in documents accompanying the Blue Solutions offer. The listing on the Euronext exchange will raise the company's profile and help its growth "in a market that is particularly crucial for the immediate and medium term", he said.

Last month Bollore group announced a deal with Renault to bid for electric car-sharing contracts and assemble battery-powered vehicles in France.

Bollore, 61, has declared ambitions to transform Blue Solutions into a company with 1.5 billion euros in annual sales and a 400 million euro operating profit in 2022, after breaking even next year.

Financial details supplied with the offer prospectus suggest an enterprise value of between 2.4 and 2.5 times forecast 2017 sales, according to Reuters calculations.

By comparison, Tesla is trading at a multiple of 7.6, while most traditional mass carmakers and South Korean battery giant LG Chem are closer to 1.

A lawyer by training, Vincent Bollore has become rich by taking stakes in troubled companies, building a multi-billion euro conglomerate out of the family's paper mills in Brittany, western France.

Bollore is also the biggest shareholder in advertising agency Havas and media group Vivendi, where he was appointed vice-chairman last month following a boardroom tussle as the group considers spinning off its SFR telecoms unit.

The Blue Solutions offer period will run from Oct. 17 until Oct. 28, with final pricing set on Oct. 29 and trading to begin the next day

Was bzw. welche Sparte also macht Bollore so teuer

Nein, danke.

Noch eine jüngere Pressemitteilung:

French billionaire Bollore brings electric hire cars to London

By Costas Pitas

LONDON, March 12 (Reuters) - First it was pedal power; now

Londoners are being offered electric transport to dodge their

way around the city.

French billionaire Vincent Bollore on Wednesday unveiled

plans to park 3,000 electric cars on London streets by 2016, as

part of a car share project that emulates the popular bike hire

scheme started in 2010 under Mayor Boris Johnson.

Bollore, chief executive of the group <BOLL.PA> bearing his

name which set up the Autolib electric car-sharing programme in

Paris in 2011, said electric car hire could help cut congestion

and reduce pollution in the British capital.

"Pollution becomes a nightmare ... so many cities where you

can't even go out and the planes can't take off and you have to

solve this problem," Bollore told Reuters at the launch of the

scheme alongside one of the compact, silver-and-white cars.

Facing tougher environmental regulation and growing demand

for less polluting cars, automakers are investing heavily in

electric vehicles, but many consumers have been deterred by the

limited distance that electric cars can go on a single charge.

But Bollore, whose company has interests in transport, media

and electricity storage, said the yet-to-be named car hire

scheme would be serviced by 6,000 charging points installed

around London by 2018, up from the current 1,400.

Users will be able to hire a car for 10 pounds ($16.63) an

hour, using a smartphone app to find a pick-up point, then leave

it at one of an unspecified number of locations.

French Electric Vehicle technology chosen by the United States

Blueindy, largest electric car sharing service in the United States, will be launched by Bolloré

Group on May 19th

Greg Ballard, Mayor of Indianapolis and Vincent Bolloré, Chairman of the Bolloré Group, present

today to the press and the people of Indianapolis BlueIndy, the revolutionary 100 percent electric

car sharing service.

The Mayor of Indianapolis, renowned city in the automotive industry chose to align this event with

the opening of the famous Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) conference. EDTA

usually holds its yearly conference in Washington, DC, but this year chose Indianapolis mainly of

the BlueIndy launch.

The Bolloré Group will invest approximately $35 million in Indianapolis, for a momentous project

which will result in the largest electric car sharing service in the United States. For the first

time, Bolloré Group will export outside of France its end-to-end electric car sharing solution.

The service is based on the successful Autolib' in Paris, Bluely in Lyon and Bluecub in Bordeaux,

which complete public transportation offer and improves french citizen's mobility.

The BlueIndy service, which will open within 8 months, will include up to 500 electric vehicles,

200 service locations fitted with 1,000 charging stations.

Mayor Ballard, who in 2012 announced his goal of promoting energy security by reducing reliance on

foreign oil, said, « This is an unprecendented announcement. Electric vehicles and car sharing

are the future. Bolloré, one of the world's largest companies, will replicate its successful

service outside of France and bring to the city the benefits of an innovative, economical and

environmentally friendly mode of transpotation. Indianapolis is braking new ground and hopes to

lead the way for other U.S. cities. »

Vincent Bolloré : «The Bolloré Group is proud to bring its unique technology know-how and

operations excellence in electric vehicle sharing to Indianapolis, a city so strongly associated

with automotive racing. We are glad to support Mayor Ballard's energy-transition vision. From now

on, residents and visitors of Indianapolis will be able to drive around without owning a car and

without emitting greenhouse gases or particulate matter. »

The electric car sharing service is a forward-looking solution for cities around the world. The

Bolloré Group has already deployed nearly 3 000 Bluecar equipped with Blue Solutions batteries.

Through its range of applications, Blue Solutions is the ideal partner to help cities and regions

carry out «smart city » strategies.

2. Vincent hat jetzt bei Vivendi das Sagen.

Vincent Bollore gives first clues on his vision for Vivendi

* Bollore appointed board chairman on Tuesday

* Sets out aim for an integrated media company

* Vivendi's three units are in music, Brazil telco, pay-TV

* Future dividend payout ratio seen at 40-50 pct - Bollore

(Adds Bollore and analyst comments, detail, background, shares)

By Leila Abboud and Gwénaëlle Barzic

PARIS, June 24 (Reuters) - Billionaire French businessman

Vincent Bollore gave the first hints of his strategy for Vivendi

<VIV.PA> as he took over as chairman on Tuesday, saying he saw

the potential to grow its media assets while also paying a

healthy dividend.

Vivendi, one of France's biggest companies, has sold off

three businesses, including telecoms operator SFR, in a two-year

overhaul aimed at cutting debts and reviving its share price.

Bollore, who with a 5 percent stake is its biggest

shareholder, will be the key decision maker as the company seeks

to forge a coherent whole out of its three remaining businesses

and starts to look for growth opportunities.

Vivendi now owns the world's biggest record label, Universal

Music Group, France's biggest pay-television operator, Canal

Plus, and Brazilian broadband specialist GVT.

"Vivendi's strategy is now clearly fixed," Bollore told an

annual shareholder meeting in his first public remarks on the

company since he became vice-chairman last year.

"It is to transform the company from a financial holding to

an integrated company focused on content".

Despite his influence, the 62-year old tycoon - famed for

building a family owned transport business in Africa and raiding

blue-chip companies - has so far said very little about where he

wants to take Vivendi. That has left investors and analysts

guessing whether his intentions are to sell off more of the

group, or seek to build something from its current portfolio.

One thing is sure, Vivendi is expected to hit the

acquisition trail late this year and next to seek growth. People

familiar with the situation have told Reuters it has up to 10

billion euros ($14 billion) to remake itself in media depending

on how much debt it is willing to take on. [iD:nL5N0OR4Z2]

Vivendi is expected to weigh acquisitions in different areas

from Canal Plus and Universal Music Group, which are already too

big in their respective markets to expand further, they said.

However, they did not rule out that Canal Plus could also

seek to expand its geographic footprint - which is now France,

Poland Vietnam, and some African countries - to offset slowing

growth in its domestic market.

Regardless of deals, Vivendi has pledged to keep its current

BBB debt rating from Fitch and Standard & Poor's, and its Baa2

from Moody's.

GROWTH AND DIVIDENDS

In terms of shareholder returns, Bollore said Vivendi could

in future pay out about 40-50 percent of earnings in dividends.

"The board will decide the dividend policy based on what

opportunities are available," he said, referring to

acquisitions. "But in a growing business - and we think our

media activities will grow - it seems reasonable to distribute

40 to 50 percent."

Vivendi has recently paid out about 40-50 percent of

adjusted net earnings as dividends, while also noting a trend in

the media sector of moving towards a 30-40 percent payout ratio.

Bollore did not say anything about what acquisitions Vivendi

should target. But he did say the group could squeeze more value

and cost savings out of its three business lines by making them

work together, something which has eluded Vivendi in the past

decade despite repeated attempts.

"In reality there is hidden value at Vivendi," said Bollore.

"There are more synergies between the three business units than

Vivendi has been able to exploit in the past."

He gave as an example how Brazilian telco GVT could be used

to sell more television content from Canal Plus. GVT has used

Canal Plus' expertise to win some 700,000 pay-TV customers only

one year after launching the service.

Bernstein analyst Claudio Aspesi expressed scepticism that

Vivendi's diverse businesses had much in common. "Investors

would probably prefer not to hear a re-run of the old script -

Vivendi saying it is looking for synergies - it's a bit like a

horror movie," he said before the shareholder meeting.

"In the past, the management has tried to demonstrate value

of holding assets together, but operating synergies were never

found."

Vivendi shares were up 0.5 percent at 1420 GMT in a flat

European market <.FTEU3>. Shares that were trading at 12 euros

when the firm's overhaul started two years ago have settled at

around 19 euros after hitting 21 euros in February, the highest

level in three years.

In addition to Bollore's debut, the shareholder meeting was

a victory lap for veteran chairman Jean-Rene Fourtou, who saved

Vivendi from bankruptcy in 2002 and piloted the past two years

of strategic overhaul.

Bollore thanked Fourtou for bringing him to Vivendi and said

he would nominate Fourtou as honorary board president.

"I think this young man still has a lot to give," Bollore

said of 75-year-old Fourtou.

Bollore arrived as a Vivendi shareholder in 2012 when he

agreed to be paid in shares for selling 60 percent of his

broadcast TV channels Direct 8 et Direct Star to Canal Plus. He

later bought additional shares on the market.

($1 = 0.7357 Euros)

(Quelle Reuters)
