Hop-On Launches Multimedia Phone For Mass Market

Monday March 14, 10:26 am ET

IRVINE, Calif., March 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hop-on (OTC: HPON - News) today announced the launch of its full-featured MULTIMEDIA cellphone. The Model 1893 MULTIMEDIA cellphone is another breakthrough in Hop-on's efforts to introduce the latest in cellphone technologies to the mass market. The GSM tri-band handset boasts all the latest in multimedia features, including an MP3 player, camera and video recorder.

Dan Gannon, Chief Executive Officer of Hop-on commented, "We are very excited about this launch and look forward to showcasing our MULTIMEDIA cellphone at the CTIA show today, along with 6 other new cellphone models, all designed for the mass and emerging markets. Our MULTIMEDIA cellphone is targeted for a wholesale cost of under $150. Cellphones with comparable feature sets currently sell for approximately $400 to $1,000. We expect to see high interest at CTIA based on the recent response at the CeBIT 2005 tradeshow in Germany in our other models. The mass and emerging segments of the market are clearly starting to gain traction as evidenced by the attention major handset and component manufacturers are now giving them. As these markets continue to develop we expect to benefit given our product line-up, carrier relationships and outsourced manufacturing arrangements."
